International activities
of the Department of Radio Engineering and Information Security
Since its establishment in 1989, the Department of Radio Engineering and Information Security, in addition to training specialists, has also actively developed cooperation with foreign researchers and institutions. In recent years, the international activity of the department has been focused on two areas:
-
improving the training of department students and their academic mobility.
-
joint scientific research with foreign partners.
The department graduates students at three educational levels: bachelor's, master's, and PhD. Within the framework of international mobility programs of the EU, students of the department have the opportunity to study in leading universities in Europe. In particular, this is confirmed by the mobility of students in leading scientific institutions of European countries according to Erasmus Mundus grants, etc.:
- bachelor's level. Lenkovska M.A. - Slovakia; Lysak A.V. - Poland.
Maria Lenkovska during her internship at the Slovak Technical University, Bratislava, Slovakia
-
Master's level. Vlasenko V.V. - the Netherlands; Usevich I.O. - Finland.
Ihor Usevych during his internship at Aalto University, Espoo, Finland (2014-2015)
Vitaly Vlasenko during his internship at the University of Groningen, Groningen, the Netherlands
- PhD level. Ivanyuk P.V. – France, the Netherlands; O.M. Eliyashiv - Italy; V.B. Rusyn - Romania; D.A. Vovchuk - Finland; S.M. Hrapko - Poland; O.V. Krulikovskyi - Italy; E.I. Bolonna - Portugal, Hobzei M.M. – Israel and Latvia, Tkach V.O. - Israel and Latvia.

The department focuses its efforts on continuous high-quality training of students and attracts foreign institutions to conduct joint master's studies, in particular, this is confirmed by active cooperation and agreements on joint research with:
-
Muhammadiyah Tasikmalaya University, Tasikmalaya, Indonesia;
-
Tel Aviv University, Tel Aviv, Israel;
-
Ștefan cel Mare University of Suceava, Suceava, Romania;
-
Lublin Polytechnic, Lublin, Poland.
The professors of the department were able to get quality equipment to improve the educational process, in particular:
-
The Canadian company Tektelik provided its products for the creation of courses in the field of IoT (Brailovsky V.V., Samila A.P.).
-
Cisco provides software for training students in communications security (M. Rozhdestvenska, G. I. Lastivka).
-
The Intel company within the Intel FPGA Academy Program constantly provides its latest FPGA equipment, which substantially and qualitatively expanded the material base of the department both in terms of student training and research (Oleh Krulikovskyi).
Students of the department are active members of the IEEE professional society and actively participate in international conferences under the auspices of the IEEE.
Students of the department actively participate in the annual international competition International Students Contest on Information Security CTF-USV, which is held on the basis of the University named after Stephen the Great, Suceava, Romania. This enables students of the department to compare their skills with colleagues from other universities in neighboring countries.

Faculty members of the department actively visit foreign institutions and cooperate with their researchers as part of academic mobility programs. The department organizes a joint conference with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences of Ștefan cel Mare University of Suceava. Within the framework of this cooperation, the Department of Radio Engineering and Information Security was awarded a great medal of Professor Dorel Chernomazu for the organization of the PREDT 2021 conference.

Professors of the department and PhD students conduct joint scientific research and projects with foreign partners.
Assistant of the department Halyuk S.D. and graduate students Mykola Hobzei and Tkach Vladyslav actively collaborate with colleagues from Tel Aviv University (Tel Aviv, Israel) on research in the field of metamaterials, Turin Polytechnic (Turin, Italy) - the use of deterministic chaos in modern secure communication systems, and also Riga Technical University (Riga, Latvia) - development of modern telecommunication systems.

Phd student Mykola Khobzei for his research project "Inteligent Nonlinear Metasurfaces for Encrypted Wireless Communication" became the laureate of the 2023 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society scholarship.
Assistant Professor Rusyn Volodymyr conducts joint research with researchers from Muhammadiyah Tasikmalaya University (Indonesia). The topic of research is new mathematical and circuit engineering solutions of chaotic and hyperchaotic systems and circuits. Volodymyr Rusyn has published a number of joint scientific works in this field of research, which are indexed in the highly-rated scientific metric database SCOPUS. The co-authors are leading world scientists from Indonesia, Malaysia, Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Greece, and India.
Assistant Professor Volodymyr RUSYN delivered a plenary report "Nonlinear Oscillators and Chaotic Generators" at the 1st International Conference "Padangsidimpuan International Conference on Applied Science, Engineering and Technology" (PIC-ASET 2020), which was organized by two Indonesian universities (Universitas Muhammadiyah Tapanuli Selatan and Universitas Muhammadiyah Tasikmalaya) in online mode based on the ZOOM platform.
Professor of the department Samila A.P. and graduate students Ihor Safronov and Oleksandr Moysyuk are collaborating with researchers from the Lublin Polytechnic (Lublin, Poland) on research in the field of NQR spectroscopy.
Assistant Professor Oleh Krulikovskyi and PhD students Herman Yurii and Oleh Vavrin collaborate with researchers from Ștefan cel Mare University of Suceava (Sucava, Romania) and Potomac Research LLC (Alexandria, Virginia, USA) on projects in the field of applied electronics. Assistant Oleh Krulikovskyi is also a member of the Intel FPGA Academy Program and the LHCb Romanian Group.
